Funding

In April 2007 we were delighted to receive 5 year funding from Big Lottery.

Bereavement Befriending

As a way of moving our project forward whilst continuing to meet the needs of residents of Monifieth, we are now offering a befriending service to bereaved people in Monifieth.  We had discussions with Cruse, local ministers and the local funeral director - all of whom support this initiative - to determine the level of need.  

We have dedicated volunteers to provide this specialised befriending service, on a flexible timescale relevant to individual requirements. The service we provide is befriending, and not counselling, which is a service which Cruse can and will provide if necessary.  Cruse has delivered preparation on bereavement befriending to our Project Co-ordinators, members of our Management Team and our volunteers. 

We have employed a new Co-ordinator, Mrs Chris Taylor, to manage this new arm of our service. 

FUNDRAISING

Silent Auction

Our Silent Auction took place on Saturday 15th March. It was great fun and a huge success. Many thanks to the local businesses who so generously donated goods to be sold (Please see poster of thanks, attached below). A big thank you to our volunteers who helped out by donating goods and home baking; also for helping with the setting out the hall the night before the auction and their much needed help on the day.

We are grateful to everyone who came along and supported us - we hope you had fun too!

Summer Quiz sheet - £20 prize

Our summer quiz sheet is now on sale priced £1. Please help us to raise funds by purchasing one and have some fun at the same time! Please contact Lindsey or Chris. Contact details are available on the 'contact us' page. The closing date for entries is Friday 15th August 2008.

AGM/PUBLIC MEETING

Our AGM/Publc Meeting was held on Tuesday 3rd June 2008 in Monifieth Library, High Street, Monifieth at 7.30 pm. The minutes and reports can be accessed at the bottom of this page.

Christmas Party

On Friday 7th December 2007, we held our Christmas party for clients and their volunteer befrienders, which was greatly enjoyed by all. Photographs below.

Summer Party

Our first Summer Party for clients and volunteer befrienders was held on Friday 29th June 2007. It was a great success and a good time was had by all. See the photographs below.
