Referrals

Our referrals can come from organisations, family members or the clients themselves.        Referrers should send the completed referral form (attached below) to us, and one of our Project  Co-ordinators will arrange to visit the client.  Clients must be resident in Monifieth.

The client should sign the referral form to confirm agreement of the referral.

Referrers should make themselves available if required for an initial introductory meeting with the Befriender, Client and Project  Co-ordinator. All referrers will be asked to complete an evaluation questionnaire 6 months after befriending commences.

Referrer's expectations should be made clear at the time of referral, and referrers should make their clients aware of what our Volunteer Befriender is there for, and what is - and is not - part of their role.  A Befriender's role is to offer companionship/friendship - no nursing or home help duties should be involved.
